DALLAS (AP) — Dallas police have arrested a suspect in the fatal shooting of an Iraqi man as he took photos of his first snowfall.
Police on Friday announced an arrest in the March 4 shooting of Ahmed Al-Jumaili. He died the next day. Further details on the suspect have not been released. Police scheduled a news conference for later Friday.
Relatives say Al-Jumaili fled violence in his homeland to reunite with his wife in the U.S. He'd been in Texas just three weeks when he was shot while snapping snow photos in the parking lot of an apartment complex.
Dallas police had been looking for four men seen on surveillance video leaving the complex. Officials say it's unclear if Al-Jumaili was targeted or if was struck by random gunfire during the storm.
