Man Left 2-Year-Old Niece In Car While He Committed Murder, Police Say

Authorities in Louisiana say a man borrowed his sister's car, picked up his 2-year-old niece, and then committed a murder on the drive back home.

Reginald Bradley, 28, is accused of killing Kenneth Clark, 28, while the child sat in the car, the Times-Picayune reports. Authorities said he left the girl, then went out and shot the victim.

Authorities with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office linked a blue Ford Taurus seen driving away from the crime scene in Algiers to Bradley's sister, according to WDSU. They visited her address and found Bradley.

WWLTV reports:

Reginald [Bradley] told Detective Goff, after picking up the child, he traveled to the 4200 block of Lac Bienville where he left his niece in the vehicle while he visited a friend who lived in the area. He then returned to his vehicle and drove back to his residence. When asked about his involvement in the shooting of Clark, Bradley requested an attorney.

Police have not commented on a possible motive in the killing.

Several news outlets note that Bradley has an extensive criminal history, including arrests for armed robbery, carjacking and felony in possession of a firearm.

Bradley is charged with one count second-degree murder.
