The crowd met at the holocaust memorial, and worked their way down to the Family Justice Center in Pineville.
The purpose was to honor victims of any crime and to raise awareness for crime victims. This is the fourth year for the event and coordinators say they are humbled by the support of the community.
"Alexandria has become a center of concern for victims of crime,” said Michael Wynne, attendee. “Violent crime, domestic crime, all forms of crime. And central Louisiana is looked upon for the efforts to remember and console victims of crime."
Following the walk, victims and families of victims gave their testimonies and balloons were released with victims’ names attached to them.
