The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.

Milledgeville Police Department

Theft by Shoplifting

An officer met with a manager at Wal-Mart shortly after 8:30 p.m. June 13 in reference to a shoplifting incident. The manager said multiple employees had watched a man walk out of the store’s lawn and garden section with a shopping cart full of items and subsequently walk out of the store. After employees followed him outside into the parking lot, the man grabbed an $84 weed eater out of the cart and abandoned the remaining items in the parking lot. A Baldwin County Sheriff’s Deputy identified the suspect’s girlfriend across the street and brought her back to the store, where she signed a Notice of Prohibited Entry into the store and told police she would try and get her boyfriend to return the weed eater.

Trespassing

An officer met with an employee at the South Wayne Street McDonald’s shortly before 9 p.m. June 14 in reference to a customer throwing a packet of jelly. The employee said a customer who was going through the drive-thru had received the wrong type of jelly with her order, and pulled her vehicle around the restaurant for a second time. When the employee opened her window to see what was wrong, she said the woman threw the packet of jelly at her and drove off, but not before the employee took down the woman’s license number. After the manager asked for the woman to be trespassed from the restaurant, the officer attempted to call but was unsuccessful.
