“Even if there was a KGB killer in that room,” the television commentator said it didn't mean a criminal act had happened.
“There is absolutely no crime described. You asked my legal background. There is absolutely no crime described,” Rivera told "Fox & Friends" co-host Steve Doocy.
Trump Jr. is at the center of the Russia controversy following the release of emails in which Trump Jr., through an intermediary, arranged a meeting with a Russian lawyer promising compromising information on then-Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton
New reports on Friday revealed that Trump Jr. had not been forthcoming about all of the people at the meeting.
In addition to Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya, NBC reported that a former Soviet counterintelligence officer attended the June 2016 meeting.
Trump Jr.'s lawyer told The Hill that the lobbyist mentioned in the NBC report was introduced as a friend of Veselnitskaya and Emin Agalarov, a Russian pop star and business associate of Trump's.
“He’s a U.S. citizen and not working for the Russian government and my client was introduced to him literally at the meeting,” said Trump Jr. attorney Alan Futerfas of the individual identified by NBC.
Rivera made similar comments on Friday morning on Twitter, stating that while there was “still not a crime” even with other Russians present in the room, Trump Jr. “should tell all now to stop drip, drip, drip.”

President Trump defended his son during a visit to Paris, saying “most people would have taken that meeting" if offered opposition research.
