The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.

Milledgeville Police Department

Burglary

An officer met with a property manager at his North Wilkinson Street apartments shortly before 10:30 a.m. Aug. 5 in reference to a burglary. The manager said some of his workers had entered a building to look for a leaf blower that morning and found several pieces of equipment missing from the supply room. Among the missing items were a leaf blower, valued at $400, and five ceiling fans, valued at $150 apiece. The manager said the suspect(s) had entered the room through a rear window, and that one of his workers had since found two of the fans lying in a ditch on a nearby street.

Theft by Shoplifting

An officer met with an employee at Wal-Mart shortly after 4 p.m. Aug. 6 in reference to shoplifting. The employee said she had witnessed a woman place several clothing items into a bag, walk out to a vehicle in the parking lot, change into one of the shirts she had apparently stolen, and walk back into the store. After the woman apparently tried to steal more items, another officer confronted the woman and arrested her for shoplifting (second offense).
