The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. Milledgeville Police Department
Speeding/DUI
An officer was patrolling on North Columbia Street near Heritage Road shortly after 2 p.m. August 13 when a driver was found to be speeding. Upon conducting a traffic stop on the driver, the officer noticed an odor of alcohol inside the vehicle and noticed that the driver’s eyes were bloodshot and glossy. After calling for assistance, another officer arrived on the scene and conducted a roadside field sobriety test on the driver. The driver failed the test and was charged with DUI and traveling 66 mph in a 45 mph zone.
Theft by Shoplifting
An officer met with an employee at Food Depot shortly before 3 p.m. August 13 in reference to a shoplifter that was already in custody. The employee said he had witnessed the woman on the store’s security cameras stealing an eight-pack of Bud Light Straw-ber-Ritas on two separate occasions, and confronted her about the theft. The officer arrested the woman for shoplifting and transported her to the MPD Jail.
