Criminal Trespass
An officer met with an employee at the North Columbia Street CVS shortly after 8 p.m. August 5 in reference to an unwanted person. The employee said a man who had previously been trespassed from the location had returned to the store several minutes before. She said when she approached the man and told him he was no longer allowed on the premises, the man grew angry and threatened several times to kill her. Upon hearing the employee’s account, the officer searched the surrounding area for the suspect and found him running down Martin Luther King Drive. The officer chased after the man on foot and apprehended him near the intersection of North Clark Street and Ross Avenue, where the man was arrested for violation of a Notice of Prohibited Entry.
Criminal Trespass
An officer met with a manager at the Magnolia Park apartments on the 441 West Bypass shortly before 2 p.m. August 6. The manager said she had been inspecting one of her apartments a few minutes before when she discovered damage to the unit’s door frame, and a person who was not a tenant sleeping inside. The apartment’s tenant said that the man, who is an acquaintance of hers, had begun knocking on her door at about 5 a.m. that morning. She said he had knocked for roughly 30 minutes before breaking down the door when she refused to let him in, but that she had not wanted to call police on her friend. The man said he had needed a place to sleep because he didn’t want to sleep in his own house. The officer arrested the man for criminal trespass and transported him to the Milledgeville Jail.
