The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.
Milledgeville Police Department
Fraud
An officer met with a man at the Milledgeville Police Department shortly before 11 a.m. Aug. 22 in reference to a fraudulent charge on his account. The man said he had received several bills for unpaid money transfers from a TRS Recovery Service of Industry, Calif., but said he had not incurred any of the charges. The bills supposedly stemmed from transfers he had made at several local Wal-Mart stores, but he said he had never gone to the locations. The officer advised the man not to send the company any money and to monitor his checking account and credit score.
Simple Battery
An officer was patrolling West Hancock Street shortly before 2 a.m. Aug. 25 when an employee of The Brick reported a fight inside the bar. Upon entering the bar, the officer noticed employees escorting a man out of the establishment and another man hanging onto two bar patrons. The man being held up appeared to have a break or dislocation in his left knee, and said he did not remember getting into any altercations or how he had hurt his leg. Upon hearing this, the officer spoke to the man who had been escorted out, who said that the man had made unwanted sexual advances toward his friend and became enraged when she appeared disinterested. He said that the man had shoved his female friend in the head, and that he and another friend had grabbed the man in order to get him away from the woman. According to the woman’s request, the officer did not pursue any charges relating to the incident.
