In this week’s Arlington County Police Department crime report, a Rosslyn resident called police to report that someone broke into their apartment and cleaned it.
The resident had been on a trip when the alleged break-in occurred. There was nothing reported missing from the apartment.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2017-08080001, 1500 block of Clarendon Boulevard. At approximately 12:03 a.m. on August 7, police were dispatched to the report of suspicious circumstances. A resident returning home from a trip discovered their apartment had been cleaned and items moved around but nothing appeared to be missing. There is no suspect description.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY(late), 2017-08080090, 5400 block of 8th Road S. At approximately 11:03 a.m. on August 8, police responded to the late report of a breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined that between 12:00 a.m. and 1:00 a.m. on August 8, a resident awoke to a noise outside their window. The resident observed an unknown male suspect climbing a ladder that was placed under a window. A second unknown male suspect was holding the base of the ladder. The suspects fled the area in a red pickup truck after being confronted by the resident. The suspect on the ladder was described as a white male approximately 20 – 40 years old. The investigation is ongoing.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 2017-08080149, 1600 block of N. Colonial Terrace. Between 6:30 p.m. on August 7 and 12:15 p.m. on August 8, an unknown suspect(s) attempted to force entry into a residence. Entry was not made and no items appeared to be missing. There is no suspect(s) description.
LARCENY FROM AUTO (Series), 2017-08070026, 3900 block of 4th Street N. Between 9:00 p.m. on August 6 and 9:00 a.m. on August 7, an unknown suspect(s) entered approximately seven mostly unlocked vehicles and stole items of value. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY, 2017-08070059, 400 block of S. Carlin Springs Road. Between 11:00 p.m. on August 6 and 6:30 a.m. on August 7, an unknown suspect stole a bicycle from a residence. There is no suspect description and the investigation is ongoing.
PEEPING, 2017-08050030, 2600 block of N. Pershing Drive. At approximately 1:40 a.m. on August 5, officers in the area observed a male subject peering into a first-floor residential window. When confronted by police, the subject fled the scene on foot. Following a brief foot pursuit, the subject was taken into custody in the 800 block of N. Cleveland Street. Marlon Vega Hernandez, 24, of Arlington, VA was arrested and charged with Peeping or Spying into a Dwelling. He was held on a $2,000 secured bond.
GRAND LARCENY, 2017-08040083, 3200 block of 23rd Street N. At approximately 9:43 a.m. on August 4, police were dispatched to the report of two suspicious males attempting to steal a bicycle from the front porch of a residence. Shortly after, a similar call was received reporting two subjects were attempting to steal a bicycle from a parking garage in the 1900 block of N. Daniel Street. Responding officers canvassed the area and located two subjects matching the descriptions provided by the witnesses. Philip Taylor, 25, of Capitol Hills, MD, was arrested and charged with Grand Larceny (x2) and Grand Larceny with Intent to Sell. Raheem Freeman, 24, of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with Conspiracy to Commit Grand Larceny and Identity Theft. Both were held on no bond.
GRAND LARCENY, 2017-08060236, 4200 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 8:28 p.m. on August 6, police responded to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival it was determined that when an individual delivering pizzas arrived to make the delivery, he was approached by three unknown subjects. One subject provided the victim with cash while another forcibly grabbed the pizza. The three subjects then fled the scene on foot. The cash provided to the victim was less than the cost of the order. All three subjects are described as black males approximately 17-18 years old, slim builds, with medium complexion. One of the subjects had black, curly hair that stuck straight up. The other two suspects had short, black hair. The investigation is ongoing.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2017-08030112, 800 block of S. Emerson Street. At approximately 11:20 a.m. police responded to the report of an unlawful entry. The owner of a vacant residence found the unit unsecured and empty beer cans inside. There is no suspect description and nothing was reported missing.
