Crime Digest, Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017 - The Union-Recorder

The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.

Dog bite

An officer met with a juvenile at her Pa Johns Road apartment shortly before 3 p.m. Sept. 6 in reference to a dog bite. The girl said that a man had been walking his dog in her complex a short time before and told her his dog wouldn’t bite. When the girl went to throw a bag of trash in her bin, the dog came up behind her and bit her on the calf. She said she did not know the name of the man who had been walking the dog, and EMS personnel transported her to the ORMC.

Shoplifting/Criminal Trespass

An officer met with an employee at Food Depot on North Columbia Street shortly after 5 p.m. Sept. 6 in reference to a shoplifting. The employee said he had witnessed a woman who was still inside the store stealing several bottles of medicine, and pointed the woman out to the officer as the suspect. The officer made contact with the woman and found three bottles of unopened allergy medicine in her purse, which the woman admitted to having taken from the store. The employee did not wish to press charges in regard to the incident, but asked the officer to fill out a Notice of Prohibited Entry into the store for the woman.
