LPD Assistant Chief Jesus R. Torres said the department serves and protects 92 square miles of jurisdiction and over 260,000 in population. Comprised of volunteer citizens, Crime Stoppers is the optimal team for the welfare of the community, he said.
"Nonetheless, all crime tips are distributed among various law enforcement agencies who also keep our city a safe city. This award is testimonial of a future and successful team effort," Torres said.
