Ontario County
VICTOR — Rasheen A. Hardy, 19, of Rochester, was charged Oct. 25 by sheriff’s deputies with first-degree falsifying business records and petty larceny.
Deputies said Hardy admitted taking $220 from a cash register, while employed at the Victor Kmart, by falsifying a “no sale” on the cash register in order to open it.
VICTOR — Glori B. Melenze, 31, of Rochester, was charged Oct. 25 by sheriff’s deputies with first-degree falsifying business records and petty larceny.
Deputies said Melenze used a different price tag to buy a more expensive item at the Victor Walmart.
VICTOR — Efrain Torres, 54, of Rochester, was charged Oct. 27 by sheriff’s deputies with tampering with physical evidence.
Deputies said the charge stems from an incident at Eastview Mall. Torres was arraigned in Victor Town Court and remanded to jail without bail.
SHORTSVILLE — John P. Houle, 19, of East Main Street, was charged Oct. 27 by sheriff’s deputies with violation of probation.
Houle was arrested on a county court warrant. He was taken to jail pending arraignment in court.
Wayne County
PALMYRA — Charles L. Hunter, 26, of Newark, was charged Oct. 26 by state police with second-degree criminal contempt and unlawful possession of marijuana.
LYONS — Thomas Casler, 46, of Newark, and Debra A. Clack, 55, of Clyde, were charged Oct. 27 by state police with endangering the welfare of a child.
Accidents
GENEVA — Two people were hurt in a two-car crash Friday at County Road 6 and West Washington Street.
Ontario County deputies said P.A. Hungerford, 66, of Lodi, failed to stop at the stop sign on West Washington Street and hit a vehicle driven by Mary Goodman, 49, of Ovid. Both were taken by ambulance to Geneva General Hospital.
Hungerford was ticketed for failure to stop at a stop sign. The White Springs Fire Department assisted at the scene.
The area was closed for about 30 minutes.
GORHAM — Ontario County deputies responded to a tractor-trailer that rolled over Friday night at the intersection of Route 245 and Route 247 near Baldwin Road.
Deputies said the driver, 57-year-old Arduc Ali of Orlando, Fla., was not hurt but ticketed with failure to keep right and a log book violation. The truck hit a utility pole.
DWI
The following people were charged with driving while intoxicated:
• Amanda L. Fisher, 27, of Phelps, by Penn Yan police Oct. 29. Police said Fisher hit a utility pole in the area of Seneca and East Elm streets.
The charge is a felony because police said Fisher has a previous DWI conviction in the last 10 years. She was also charged with moving from lane unsafely, open container and refusal to take a breath test.
Fisher was arraigned in village court and remanded to jail in lieu of $250 bail or $500 bond.
• Isaias Marcano, 36, of Geneva, by state police Oct. 26; also charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs/alcohol, no license, moving from lane unsafely and speeding.
Petty Larceny
The following people were charged with petty larceny:
• Jessica L. Lanza, 28, of Geneva, by Seneca Falls police Oct. 27; accused of stealing money while employed at the Seneca Falls Walmart.
• Taylor R. Garrett, 19, of Farmington, and Sarah E. Opett, 21, of Canandaigua, by state police Oct. 27 at the Victor Walmart.
• Julian L. Harris, 24, of Rochester, by Ontario County deputies Oct. 27 at Eastview Mall; accused of stealing merchandise from Macy’s.
