Theft by Taking
An officer met with a waitress at the Pickle Barrel on North Columbia Street shortly after 4 p.m. August 25 in reference to a theft. She said she had left a money bag containing roughly $250 on a counter according to restaurant policy earlier that day, and had come back a short time later to find the money missing from the bag. She said her manager had reviewed security footage of the area from the time of the incident and seen a man walk up and take the money, but was unable to provide a name for the suspect.
Disorderly Conduct/Public Drunkenness
An officer met with an employee at the Walmart McDonald’s shortly after 10 a.m. August 27 in reference to a call for assistance. The employee said that a customer had come in the restaurant and begun calling her derogatory names, grabbing the restaurant’s phone off the counter and using racial slurs. When the officer made contact with the customer, who was having trouble walking straight and appeared to be intoxicated, the woman continued using racial slurs in regard to the employee and refused to cooperate with police requests. The officer placed the woman in handcuffs and escorted her to the rear of an MPD patrol vehicle.
