The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.
Criminal Trespass
An officer met with a a man at a Caraker Avenue building shortly before noon August 12 in reference to damage to property. The man said he had arrived that morning to open the building when he noticed damage to the front door. Someone had apparently tried to gain entry into the door, but the officer did not notice any nearby shoe or finger prints. The man said there had been nothing worth stealing inside the business at the time the door was damaged, but estimated the cost to repair it at $100.
Theft by Shoplifting
An officer met with an employee at the East Hancock Street Jet Foods shortly before 2:30 a.m. August 13 in reference to theft from the location. The employee said a man had walked into the store a few minutes before and stole a carton of Newport cigarettes. The employee had last seen the man walking toward the Riverbend apartments but was unable to provide a name for the suspect.
