Trooper seizes 14 pounds of meth in Douglas County traffic stop - NRToday.com

An Oregon State Police Trooper stopping a driver for an alleged traffic violation seized 14 pounds of what’s believed to be methamphetamine. Police alleged the drugs were found in packages hidden in the car.

Two Mexican citizens and a California resident were arrested following the incident.

It began when a trooper pulled over a 2008 Honda passenger car about 7 p.m. Aug. 19. The car had been driving northbound on Interstate 5 at milepost 95 near Canyonville.

The trooper requested a search of the car after observing what he believed to be indications of criminal activity. The search uncovered the alleged drug packages.

All three of the vehicle’s occupants were arrested and lodged at the Douglas County Jail on suspicion of unlawful possession of methamphetamine and unlawful delivery of methamphetamine.

The three arrested were Uriel Bernardino Cano, 27, of California; Joseline Hernandez Aguilar, 21, of Mexico; and Miriam Hernandez Aguilar, 19, of Mexico.

Police say this is an ongoing investigation and more information will be released in the future.
